Thank you for the comment!

I love Junji Ito and I love this game. I'm always happy to see a pixel art game and this was scary but not too scary (I'm a bit of a whimp)

Happy to hear we reached your perfect goldilocks zone of scary for you! Thanks for playing <3

Hello

I havent heard about the manga before and i havent read it (yet), so i cant judge the story, but in my opinion, this game was really well executed. The art looks amazing and the overall atmosphere was exactly as i imagined it should be. One VERY minor thing: I found 2 gramatical errors - you might want to look out for these in the future, because things like that can sometimes completely break the players focus on the game (at least in my case...). But otherwise a very, very good job, I'll be looking forward to more games from you if you make any in the future :)

I really liked this game, I found the animations very well done and quite beautiful. I love pixel style games. Kudos to the game developer you did a great job!

(+1)

i'm a little confused

(+3)

Cool pixel art and animations. Maybe you could change in the dialogues the neighbour freaked with a repetitive gear or metallic noise instead of her being so quiet.

(+3)

I really miss horror games that use pixel art - and especially in such a wonderful way as you did. Congratulations to you, amazing game!

Agree

I'm sorry Bruno, I was contacted by some friends of mine and I saw your father character in your new testament demo game. the face you used is definitely mine !! I don't know on which site you took my photo. but I ask you to stop using it immediately. it is not correct to use other people's photos without permission. I hope that in your next works I will not appear again. otherwise I'll have to hear from a lawyer and take action. I am writing to you here because I have no other way to contact you. the story ends here for me too, I had a laugh seeing myself again on a game that looks like ps1, but I ask you to stop immediately.

Don't worry about future projects, the new faces are being draw and not copy-pasted.

Now about the face, if you have any proof that is your photo, I'll immediately remove the new testament demo. But I bought the 2 face photos (priest and the girl's father) from Canva website. Now if you sell your photos to Canva allowing for commercial use and complain about it being used... complicated.

Thank you for your reply, Honestly in my life I have given consent to many sites without knowing the consequences, it is my mistake like that of many other people on the internet. It has not been easy these days to accept that my face has been used in a video game, however I understand your position and respect your work, so I only ask you if you can not use it anymore. You would also do me a great pleasure if you could tell me how to find it on Canva so I can report it directly to them and try to get it removed. I'm sorry for this situation.

are you Italian?

Don't worry, it'll not be used again.
To see the photos, just go to the Canva website and search on the images for "man face".

I searched all day through the photos but found nothing.

ok, I hope this story as you said ends here.

Epic!

Short, not too scary horror game with an interesting antagonist, I like it.

I made a video on it with text to speech voice acting, might have ruined it idk.

(+3)

Loved this game! Thank you and keep up the good work!

(+3)

really great game! nice and short but it still really creeped me out lol

(+2)

This game really wants me to read the story... neat game, 6.7/10.

(+4)

I related to the struggle and agony of the anime girl trying to get some peace and quiet while she studies.  But the person that lives near you maybe the boogeyman after all.  Never trust your neighbours is the motto of this short but creepy pixel game.  You created a too short little piece of horror masterpiece that once it ended, I was hungry for more.

I truly hope to see more of your creations.

Longer game = Best game!

tamare webon

(+3)

Great game! I really wish it was longer.

(+4)

OMG THE WAY SHE STARTE3D GOING FASTER SHE LOOKED LIKE A SPIDER BAHAHAHAHA

(+4)

Wish it was longer.

amazing!!

(+3)

Really enjoy to play this game.. Love the art style!!!

(+4)

Awesome work guys. Perfectly on point.

(+3)

Damn its hard to make comments here, but I love this, great game!
(+3)

I Love the art style, the 2D portraits are very reminiscent of Junji Ito. Not sure what happened to the neighbour in the end. I think this game has also delivered an important message in minding your own business.
(+4)

definitely succeeded in paying homage to Ito's stories! the mystery and anticipation, the story was well-executed!

however, since it is a different media, I do agree with another commenter that some hidden secrets could have been included in the game

(+4)

I loved the animations and the pixel art but I thought the story was very linear and could put some little secrets for curious players. I recommend playing if you're looking for a short game that can make you suspicious of your entire neighborhood :)

(+4)

Brilliant pixel art, it really nailed the creepiness factor when it came down to it, the ambience and sound effects were spot on as well. Really enjoyed it. Thank you for making this! 1st game.

(+3)

this game was literally giving me yuppie psycho vibes.

(+2)

Thank you very much, that's one of my favorite games

Hi! Your game was mentioned in this video and I decided to check if it has any languages except English. Please, contact me, if you want your game to be translated for free, I want to volunteer and make Russian translation :)

(+2)

Thank you for the offer!

I’m happy to see that  NextDoor is enjoyed worldwide! We do want to add more language options, but it would require a bit of work and testing. Alas, life is getting in the way atm :’)

We might come back to you in the future though!

Many thanks :)

(+2)

I'll look forward to it, thank you for the answer! ^.^

(+2)

I was wondering, will this game come up in the itch.io launcher or just directly on my pc? Wanted to double check.

(+1)

Both, you can play it directly on the browser or download it for PC

(+4)

This was such a faithful adaptation! It's hard to transfer junji ito's works to any medium other then art/manga, but you did it awesomely!

(+3)

You really captured the creepiness of the story, it was really good! If you ever make more of them I'll be on them right away, nice job!
Made a video aswell.

(+4)

I love the aesthetics and mood you made in the game! It accurately portrays Ito's works. Would love to see the continuation.

Thanks for leaving a comment, we appreciate it!

(+4)

Well done!  I'm a huge Ito fan and this was a fantastic tribute to his works.  Colour palette was atmospheric, the animation of the neighbour was just right, and I squeed out loud when Yon showed up.  Please do more.

(+1)

Good old Yon! I love it when people get the reference <3

(+3)

this was really good!

So glad you enjoyed it!

(+4)

This was fun! All the references and feels were all there! I especially love the Yon reference :) Great work!

The references make everything feel just a little more alive doesn't it? Happy to hear you enjoyed it!

(+3)

bro i just wanted to talk to the emo guy..

also, great game! im a fan of junji ito, so that makes the experience so much better!

We're also big fans, and what better way to show our love than a tribute game?

(+3)
