I love pixel games ...I  loved the sound design and LOVED the music. This was fun to play.

Glad you liked it, thnx for the stream!

Amazing game, I loved every second of it. Big fan of Junji Ito as well! What engine did you use if you don't mind me asking?

(+1)

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it :)

It was made with GameMaker2!

(+2)

This is wonderful! It was almost like reading the manga again. I hope you make more like it.

achei maneiro

This was excellent! Love the reveal at the end and almost like a Junji Ito manga, the full reveal which would be a 2-pager is a full cutscene. The main character's arm looks very dangly, like she doesn't have joints! The character designs, especially the faces, look very close to Junji Ito's elongated face style. I want more!

(+2)

(+2)

Really good, I loved it!

Amazing amazing game, the atmosphere was so well captured all throughout, it really pulled me in! Looking forward to seeing more of your group's projects!

Just in case, maybe it was my headset but it was a little  disoriented when I first walked upstairs and the music from the noisy neighbor's room was coming from the right headphone instead of the left where the guy's room was.

Other than that, really cool experience. Keep it up!

Thank you for your kind words!

I’ll take a look at the audio issue. Did you play in the browser or used the executable?

(+1)

Anytime!

Yeah I played in the browser

(+2)

this is so guuuud

(+2)

SO impressive!!! amazing adaptation job, you can kinda see that it was based on the manga because theres not much gameplay to it, but an incredible job, as a junji ito fan it made me real content, it is in my opinion even more scary than the manga :). the animation is so fluid and the game is very creative and well done. Nice project boys

(+2)

Very good!

(+1)

This made me jump out of my seat, during class, the first time I played it. It was really creepy.  Now I feel like reading that manga!

Love love love the art, the lighting and the sound. Also the UI showing the controls is very well implemented. It will be good if it was a title menu. Amazing work guys!!!

(+1)

Thank you for the kind words!

(+3)

was very creepy!!! Loved it so much omfg

(+2)

Excellent little game: Controls, sound design and graphics were all great and brought the story to life <3 Making the player hold to interact was a good touch!

(+3)

this music matches everything, makes it twice as scary. good stuff.

(+1)

i cant see my character

(+1)

Hey, thanks for reporting the issue! Could you give me a bit more detail, like:

  • Which version were you playing (i.e browser or executable)?
  • If you were playing on the browser, what browser were you using (e.g Chrome, Firefox, Edge)?
  • What platform (i.e Mobile, Desktop)

Thanks in advance,

Yun

I was in the app and I couldn't see the character. i also have a bad pc so just may have been my pc

I tried 2 times still didn't work :(

That's very unfortunate... Did you try the browser version too?

I don't have any access to other hardware, so it'll be difficult for me to replicate the issue :(

I haven't tried the browser version yet I'll try it if it does work  I'll reply

(+3)

Amazing programming too

Thank you :D I'll let him know

This is an amazing retelling of a great story, fantastic work guys. I wrote up a small article along with a no commentary playthrough for a horror news outlet I work for and have spread about on different social media.

Glad you liked it and thank you for the article!

Great game!

(1 edit) (+2)

awesome!!! ight i finna read the manga now

(+4)

Normally, when reading a Junji Ito manga you feel relativly save, as the things only happen to the people in the book.

However having an " Manga Simulation" with scary sound and music  makes the experience much more terrifying, because you are actually in the situation.

It felt fresh even though I have read the original manga.

Good work! I love it and I ´m looking forward too your  new projects!

Glad you liked it :D

(+2)

This was awesome! Great music and sound design. The art was great too. This showed me that a new Clocktower style 2D horror game could still be scary today.

Clocktower <3

(+3)

Neat Little Experience!
I really like the animation.

(+2)

That. gave me. the goosebumps. not gonna lie. I'm a big fan of Junji Ito's works and I also played some games here on itch that was also inspired by his works,  and this game is one of the best 2D pixel horror game that I played.

I hope you'll continue making these kind of game and I hope that I would get to play it in the future. Good Stuff! :D

p.s game starts at 00:13

Thank you for the stream!
