Of course the story is fantastic but the animations are fantastic. The bounciness of the main character's simple movements adds energy that's then paid off with the last scene. The extension of time by making the player go up the stairs several times works really well too. Cool game & I love the style!
Easily the best Junji Ito adaptation to date. Hopefully (you'll have to forgive me) Uzumaki will take the crown when it comes out, but until then this is a solid 5/5 stars both as an adaptation and just some damn good pixel art
This was incredible! The art and sound design is amazing, especially the fluidity of the animations... Really captures the vibe of Junji Ito's work. Couldn't have asked for a better tribute!
Next Door, while not scary in a traditional sense, does especially well for an interactive cinematic experience for it's simplistic yet stylish art style. I absolutely loved the atmosphere.
It's a straight forward affair, and reminds me very much of a creepypasta story to it's core. It definitely feels right out of short story anthology and is incredibly unsettling. So it fits very well with being an homage to Junji Ito's Mimi's Ghost Stories.
While it's not mechanically driven, the story it tells, is crisp, creepy and disturbing. You can very much see the Junji Ito's in the art, and it's very pleasing to see used in this setting.
Can recommend if you are looking for a really story driven ghost story. I enjoyed it.
I havent heard about the manga before and i havent read it (yet), so i cant judge the story, but in my opinion, this game was really well executed. The art looks amazing and the overall atmosphere was exactly as i imagined it should be. One VERY minor thing: I found 2 gramatical errors - you might want to look out for these in the future, because things like that can sometimes completely break the players focus on the game (at least in my case...). But otherwise a very, very good job, I'll be looking forward to more games from you if you make any in the future :)

I don't know on which site you took my photo. but I ask you to stop using it immediately. it is not correct to use other people's photos without permission. I am writing to you here because I have no other way to contact you. the story ends here for me too, I had a laugh seeing myself again on a game that looks like ps1, but I ask you to stop immediately.

I love Junji Ito and I love this game. I'm always happy to see a pixel art game and this was scary but not too scary (I'm a bit of a whimp)
